Avinash Bhosale Group to bring together the top 16 champion teams from the corporate world to battle for the ABIL Cup with the launch of ‘ABIL CCCC ‘08’

Pune, October 22, 2008: ABIL Group, leading Pune based player in Real Estate, Infrastructure & hospitality sector, today announced the launch of its premiere series of ABIL Corporate Cricket Champions Cup ‘08” (ABIL CCCC 08) which will see the 16 champion teams from the corporate world battling it out for the ABIL Cup. The ABIL CCCC’ 08 is an invitational tournament which will host winners & runners-up of various sectorial tournaments, benchmarked by the jury. The championship will kick start on November 01, 2008 at the Deccan Gymkhana ground with total prize money of Rs. 5.5lacs to be won over the tournament.

ABIL CCCC 08 will be played on T20 (League cum knock out) format with adherence to the international rules and standards. Sixteen teams from various sectors like Automobiles, IT, Media, Manufacturing, Telecom, Finance and Pharma will be divided into four groups. Each team will play with all the teams in their respective groups, implying at least three games per side, followed by quarter finals, semi finals and finals.

Heavy weight corporates like Bajaj Auto, Cognizant Technologies, Cybage Software, HDFC, HSBC, IBM Corporation, Idea cellular, Infosys Technologies, Kirloskar Oil Engines, Mather & Plat, News Makers (Mix of Media Houses), Sakaal, Serum Institute, Sujanil Chemicals, Tata Motors and Venkateshwara Hatcheries will be the teams to watch in the championship.

Winners and Runner up of ABIL CCCC 08 will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 1lac and Rs. 75,000/- respectively. Best batsman, best bowler, best fielder and man of the series will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/- each and a trophy. There will also be a Man of the match declared for each of the matches played who will receive a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 2,000/-

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sudhanshu Purohit, CEO, ABIL Group said, Cricket in India spells magic and is probably the only unifying factor in an otherwise diverse and large country. Our main objective behind launching ABIL CCCC 08 is to identify cricketing talent from Pune and encourage them to participate in national and international tournaments”.

Emphasizing ABIL Group’s success over the years, he further added that “ABIL as a group has a presence on national basis and we plan to take ABIL CCCC to national level in future where teams from all across the country will participate.”

The highlight of the launch was marked by unveiling of the ABIL CCCC 08 trophy at the hands of Mr. Harsha Bhogale with an emphatic speech underlining the ethos of T-20. Boosting the spirit of the championship, Mr. Vikram Sathaye, highly reputed International cricket comedian presented an out and out laugh riot.
